JOIN US for the first-ever United Way Suncoast Obstacle Course Race.
The Obstacle Course Race will take place February 18, 2017 at the Celery Fields located at 6893 Palmer Blvd.
in Sarasota.
Participants will enjoy 18 fun and challenging obstacles including wall climbs, mud crawls, hurtles and much more.
As this is our first year, we expect between 200 and 400 participants.
Our goal is not only to create a fun and engaging event for our community, but use the race as a way to highlight the obstacles so many people in our community face and how United Way Suncoast is helping them to overcome.
Proceeds will be used to fund programs and services right her in the Sarasota area to continue to fight for the education and financial stability of every person in our community.
Programs like a new career training program at the United Way Suncoast Booker Middle School Resource Center where we have, in partnership with CareerEdge Funders Collaborative, successfully launched our first tuition-free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class.
The class and certification earned will help motivate participants to increase their lifetime earning potential by building their job skills in careers desperately needed in our community.Event details and schedulePACKET PICKUP & OBSTACLE REVEAL PARTYFriday, February 17, 20176:00 pm - 8:00 pm Location:Music Compound1751 Cattlemen RdSarasota, FL 34232 This is where you will pick-up your packet and get an overview of the Obstacle Course Race.
You will also have a chance to meet other competitors and carb load as we will have complimentary food, beverages and entertainment.
All packets must be picked up Friday, February 17, 2017 at Music Compound between 6-8pm.
OBSTACLE COURSE RACE EVENT SCHEDULE Saturday, February 18, 20178:00 am – 3:00 pm Location: Celery Fields 6893 Palmer Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34240 ARRIVAL INFORMATIONPlease arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your wave start time.
PARKING INFORMATIONEvent parking will be provided.
Turn onto Center Road to be directed to the event parking and for directions to the start of the race.
NO parking is allowed:• in the public parking lots located on Palmer Road, • along the side of Palmer Road• along the side of Center Road COURSE INFORMATION • Up to 16 total waves of 30-40 participants every 15 minutes beginning at 9:00 am and ending at 12:45 pm.• 9:00 am Wave 1 is a competitive wave for experienced athletes only.• 5K (3 miles) of 18 different obstacles including wall climbs, corn hole, hurdles and much more.
WAIVERS AND IDRacers age 14 - 17 must have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian.
