The Grape Stampede is cancelled for 2016 due to the Sobranes Fire in the area.
The air quality has been extremely poor in the morning hours this week and afternoon winds have brought ash drifts through the area.
Predicting the weather in 10 days is not exact, so there is no way to plan for wind patterns on October 2.
More importantly there is no way to predict the fire activity during the next 10 days.
The health of our participants comes first for the Recreation District and it is with a heavy heart we decided to cancel the event this year.
We are working with Active.com to issue refunds for those who have registered.
The Soledad Mission Fiesta, Rib BBQ, Grape Stomp, wine tasting, craft booths, live music, auction, and community event will still happen and we encourage all to attend it is such a great event.
