Join us on this fun run/ walk event and enjoy free pancakes at the end of the race! Race through the flag lined streets on this challenging but fun course
Start and end at our local Veterans Monument- all in support of the John Wilt Foundation: USO, Fisher House, OFallon Veterans Monument, and the John Wilt Scholarship Fund. 5K Walk immediately following Race Day Registration starts at 7:00 am Cost: $25 early registration, $30 on race day Long sleeve tech shirt guaranteed if registered on or before August 31th (Optional) $5 John Wilt Foundation Annual Membership Awards: Awards will be given at the end of the race **************************************************************************************************** John Wilt graduated from O'Fallon Township High School in 1996
His interests included music, sports, math, science, literature, international relations and history
At O'Fallon HS, John was a member of the Honor Society, the concert and marching bands, the speech team, and Model UN
He also played varsity football, participated in track and was active in his church
After graduating from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in Physics, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the United States Marine Corps
John died May 8th, 2002 in an aircraft accident while undergoing flight officer training at NAS Pensacola, Florida and was posthumously promoted to 1st Lt in August 2008
The John Wilt Foundation supports the USO, Fisher House, and a $1,500 yearly, renewable scholarship for an OTHS graduating senior
